ROADS on Asteroids is in the history books. January-April, four RTH teams (2 – high school, 2 middle schools) engaged in several mission objectives that simulated real NASA missions to asteroids. The activity culminated on Saturday 24 April 2021, at Tacoma Narrow Airport with the final drone and robotic rover mission objectives. All the teams were able to activate the surface impactor with the drone. Two teams were able to land the drone safely on the robotic rover. One team was able to use the rover to retrieve all the sample objects. EVERYONE learned and applied new STEM knowledge. Everyone learned lessons in teamwork. Everyone learned lessons in planning and execution. We are crazy proud of the 20 RTH students that step beyond and above their peers to participate in the ROADS on Asteroids challenge.#ROADSonAsteroids#FlyHawks
