Yesterday, Red-Tailed Hawks rewarded five student members for their Continuing the Legacy in Aviation (CTLA) essays with flights and a VIP tour of the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum in McMinnville, OR (MMV). True to our vision of Legacy Lift, Future Thrust… this was an opportunity to learn aviation history and pilot knowledge. Two students flight planned a flight, in a Mooney M20F, from Paine Field, WA (PAE) to MMV and three students’ flights planned a flight, in a Cessna 172, from Boeing Field, WA (BFI). Then, they applied dead reckoning and pilotage to navigate the routes with RTH pilots. Writing the CTLA essay is an annual requirement for RTH. Prior to the pandemic, our students would compete for a trip to visit Southwest Airlines Headquarters at Love Field, TX (DAL). #FlyHawks#EvergreenMuseum#SWA
