Many of you attended events held at Mrs. K’s Tollhouse in Maryland. Most of the gatherings were Best Life Events Inc. parties for fun and fellowship.
Outside of our wedding reception in 2017 and my father, Jasper Harris Jr.’s, celebration of life in 2019, the most memorable event was the fundraiser held for the Red-Tailed Hawks Flying Club in December of 2019.
It was a phenomenal event, which blended a musical extravaganza, with an exquisite culinary experience, highlighted with a very moving presentation from the Founder and President,
Jesse Hayes IV and aviation student, Mervyn Thomas-Crawford.
When Mervyn Thomas-Crawford, spoke of his first fight at age 12, I wish I could have captured the instantaneous increase in donations! How many 19 years old’s can speak of logging flight hours on a Saturday! The entire evening was mind-blowing!
In order for program this to continue, WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT. So far 33 incredible students have benefited from a number of benefactors who made donations to this scholarship fund.
The mission of the Red-Tailed Hawks Flying Club is:
To introduce underserved and underrepresented youths to the world of aviation, engage their minds in practical applications of STEM, ground them in history, inspire them towards aerospace related career paths and help them learn to fly.
Please take a look at the link and read the bio’s of these remarkable students. On this upcoming “Giving Tuesday” PLEASE consider giving to the very impactful scholarship fund a memory of my father, Jasper Harris Jr. one of the first Black engineers, hired by Boeing in 1951. He was the real deal and my first mindset teacher! Please come on and let’s get these young geniuses up in the air!
