The May Red-Tailed Hawks Flying Club (RTH) meeting series included 50 participants on the Friday Zoom and 40 participants Saturday at Rainier Flight Service, Renton Municipal Airport (RNT). What a great start to the flying season! On Friday, May 14, the PHAK lesson covered Aircraft Performance, and the history lesson introduced famed Tuskegee Airman Connie Nappier, Jr. ( BPA’s Connecticut chapter’s namesake) who passed away in 2016. On Saturday, May 15, divided into three small groups, 23 student members participated in the RTH Fly-in Meeting. The pilot knowledge portion covered the airspeed indicator, aircraft weight, and balance and a review of the performance lesson. Next, they flew the Redbird simulators and later flew in real airplanes with RTH pilots.#FlyHawks
