Red-Tailed Hawks have been busy with ROADS on Asteroids. These budding engineers have designed and built their challenge mat simulating the Snowman caters on the asteroid, Vesta. They have been learning and applying knowledge of geometry, trigonometry, and the physics of projectile motion to meet the remaining mission objectives. They are also getting some hands-on experience and developing manufacturing skills. Soon they will complete the design and build of simulated satellites, an impactor mechanism, ramp obstacles, sample objects, robotic rovers, and a mobile landing pad for a drone.
