The August 9-10 Meeting Series and Family Picnic Build Bonds! Over eighty Red-Tailed Hawks came together via Zoom and at Tacoma Narrows Airport, WA. Friday was an awesome online experience as we covered Aeromedical Factors with an Army Aviation expert and the influence of AI on aviation with an FAA expert. Saturday included reviewing some of the fundamentals of flight and the altitude indicator as the instrument of the month. Afterward, an FAA expert dug deeper into the PHAK lesson on Aeromedical Factors before transitioning to the Knowledge Bowl. The student members from the five RTH Flights A-E, competed in demonstrating their collective knowledge of aviation history and the fundamentals of flight. E Flight won!
Next, the membership transitioned to the Family Picnic and discovery flights at the Observation deck. Fun was had by all! The potluck food choices were delicious! Hats off to the membership. Many thanks to Rainier Flight Service, ATC, and the FAA STEM/AVSED volunteers.
