On Saturday, the 62d Airlift Wing rolled out the red carpet for the RTH Youth Program. They opened the eyes of students to a wide variety of career opportunities and exposed them to the operations of Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA. The day included an intelligence briefing from the 442 OSS and static displays of a 7th Airlift Squadron C-17 and Apache and Blackhawk helicopters belonging to the 2-158 Assault Helicopters Battalion. We also divided into groups to rotate through a series of Operational Support experiences: Aircrew Flight Equipment, Tower, Tower Simulator, Virtual Reality Maintenance Trainer, Airfield Management, Fire Department, and Weather. We ended the day with a flight on a C-17.
Hats off to the airmen and soldiers at JBLM. Thank you!
