On Saturday, 20 February 2021, 53 Red-Tailed Hawks met via Zoom. During this meeting, students were introduced to a wide berth of potential aviation career choices. De Marco Best, Alaska Airlines, provided wonderful insight into situation engineering. Kimberly Ford, USAF Lt Col (ret) shared her path to flying for Alaska Airlines and explained the responsibilities of an airline transport pilot. John Frazier, USAF Col (ret) highlighted his career path as an aircraft maintenance officer and commander. ENS N’aithan Scott shared his career path from Navy air traffic controlled on aircraft carriers to commissioned officers attending pilot training. LCDR Ty Waller provided insight into his dual career paths as a Navy cryptologist and an FAA CFII. Ty Waller, with a BS in aerospace engineering and MS in computer science, went on to teach the principles and aerodynamics of flight. David Tyler, CFII shared the legacy of Herbert Jones, Jr., Tuskegee Airman, businessman, flight school owner, and namesake of Wash.
