The 2023 Future Thrust Awards was an amazing night! We honored Jim Miller, Stacia Neal, and Stacey Hill for their service to others. Mona Lake Jones won the Alaska Airlines raffle. Several of our students shared their RTH experiences, and everyone ate well and enjoyed the music played by DJ Summerrise. Many danced until they kicked us out of Renton Technical College.

The Red-Tailed Hawks Flying Club, BPA presents the 9th Future Thrust Awards, on Saturday, December 2nd, 2023.

We will enjoy good food, great company, and dancing! Yes! Bring your dancing shoes. DJ Summerrise will be in the house. We will see you at Renton Technical College, bldg. I, 3000 NE Fourth St, Renton, WA, in the Catering Cafeteria. Doors open at 5:30 PM.

We invite you to attend and extend the invitation to your friends, colleagues, and family.

Admission is $100 per person or $800 per table.

Attire is business dress/coat & tie.

Ten years ago, we started the Red-Tailed Hawks Flying Club (RTH) to introduce underserved and underrepresented youth to the world of aviation and champion STEM learning. We began with two student members and the vision of “Legacy Lift, Future Thrust.” Today, under the charter of Black Pilots of America, Inc., we boast several education programs, including RTH Aviation Experience, RTH Aviation Day Camp, Red-Tailed Hawks FLY, and the inaugural Aerospace Science Camp. We also offer the Jasper Harris, Jr. Aviation Scholarship and the Dr. Jesse D. Hayes, Jr. STEM Scholarship. Through our programming and outreach, we touch the lives of over 1000 students annually. Please help us tell the world about our impact on the lives of youths and the seeds we are planting for the aerospace industry.

Our Honorees are Stacey Hill of The Boeing Company, John Miller of Puget Sound Soaring Association, and Stacia Bible of Odel Middle School.

The emcee is Angela Russell, a journalist and storyteller.

On December 3rd, Kyla gave the invocation and read “High Flight” beautifully, and Luke introduced the emcee, Mr. Bill Reed. We also heard testimonies from Vismay (who soloed at the BPA Summer Flight Academy), Jaaden (Continuing the Legacy in Aviation Finalist), and Ishitha (top Red-Tailed Hawks FLY cadet). Finally, Arthur and Taanvi interviewed and presented the Future Thrust Awards honorees – Dr. Paul Pitre and LaNiqua Bell, respectively. What a beautiful evening!

In a short three years at TSU, Fontaine has transformed the Aviation Science Management and Professional Pilot Programs to compete with any aviation department in the nation. Come honor Dr. Fontaine and help us fund the Black Pilots of America ‘Les Morris’ Summer Flight Academy. This national program is held in Houston, TX and its long-awaited 50th year will be the summer of 2022. #FlyHawks

Claiborne led great accomplishments as president of Sisters of the Skies, a charitable organization with the mission of increasing the number of black female professional pilots.
