Operation Skyhook is a crucial element of the RTH methodology to develop pilots with the knowledge, skill, and confidence to make sound aeronautical decisions. Operation Skyhook is an opportunity for aviation comradery and pilot development networking. Pilots nationwide with varied backgrounds (airlines, military, FAA, A&P, etc.) come together in a fun environment to showcase flying for the community and lift each other in friendly competition. This is an excellent opportunity for young pilots to rub shoulders with seasoned pilots and expand their network in the aviation community. This Memorial Weekend, RTH showed up with nine pilots, and all of them benefited from the coaching, mentorship, instruction, and financial empowerment Black Pilots of America (BPA) provided. This first-place team also develops the next class of RTH pilots. RTH has three camps, a year-round youth program, and formal flight training opportunities, including sponsorships to the BPA's Les Morris Summer Flight Academy.
